Yeovil Town Swoop for PooleBy Chris O'Brien - May 3 2005Yeovil Town look set to sign Manchester United forward David Poole on a free transfer. The 20-year-old has enjoyed a successful trial at Huish Park, and looks certain to move to the Football League Two promotion hopefuls.Yeovil Town are interested in bringing Manchester United forward David Poole to Huish Park, with talks between the two clubs now underway. The Football League Two club are currently in the hunt for promotion and top England's fourth flight going into the final game of the campaign. The 20-year-old showed great promise when first introduced to reserve team football at Old Trafford, but has not made the step up in class required to have an impact on first-team affairs and now looks certain to move to the West Country. He has spent a couple of weeks on trial with Yeovil, and has impressed Glovers boss Gary Johnson "There is a fair chance that he will be joining us. We are in negotiations at the moment. I wanted to make sure he had the right personality, and wanted to move here. He impressed on all counts." said the Yeovil Town chief. Poole is a versatile forward who prefers to play as a striker but can also switch to the right flank of the midfield. A handful of Premiership clubs have shown interest in signing Poole, but the youngster is thought to prefer a move to Yeovil as he will be guaranteed first-team football with a very ambitious outfit.
